it all started with...

A peculiar child that favored building out Lego homes over dressing Barbie dolls, flipping through Architectural Digests over channels of television and enjoyed sipping on café con leche over most anything else.

The innate interest in aesthetics, creating spaces and culinary expression only brewed stronger with age. after 20+ years of eclectic experience and realized passions, a childhood dream comes to fruition via this small business in the West Village…where the paths of self-employment and single-motherhood became her next journey.

Ad Hoc | Collective was birthed June 2017, 2 months before the actual birth of the owner’s only child. the ever-changing space has had many iterations of a layout and furnishings over the years and offers an array of vintage + modern home goods and is the setting for a quaint coffee bar and kitchen for small bites. spring of 2023 welcomed the next change with an expansion of work space to make room for a revised menu for extended hours and mocktail offerings to be enjoyed throughout the day into the evening.

as we enter our 9th year in operation, we are working on a transition from day service to late afternoon into the evening as a cafe / wine bar. the space is sentimental to us and we love creating and offering our tiny shop for those who enjoy a little more of a subdued but cozy ambiance.
